Assassination of Mahmoud Faisal al-Kharaz

On May 27, Israeli soldiers raided the town of Nablus, storming the city of Nablus from the Hawara checkpoint, raiding the Gulf Exchange at Zawata Roundabout and the Ashqar Gold and Jewellery shops in the commercial market, seizing their contents amid gunfire and tear gas canisters.

An Israeli army officer was filmed celebrating after his colleague successfully shot and killed a Palestinian man, Mahmoud Al-Kharraz, 36.

Mahmoud Al-Kharraz, a father of three, was initially reported to be in critical condition after being shot in the chest with live ammunition. He was evacuated to the nearby Rafidia Government Hospital under heavy gunfire. The ambulance was targeted and damaged by Israeli bullets.

Mahmoud Al-Kharraz succumbed to his wounds about an hour later.

Six citizens were injured by Israeli occupation forces' bullets during the raid on Nablus, including two who sustained serious injuries

Six Palestinian journalists covering the raid were injured by gas canisters fired by Israeli forces.
