Pogrom in the Bedouin community of Jaba

On Saturday, February 23, 2025, Israeli settlers burned down a house belonging to a family in the Bedouin community east of the village of Jaba’, north of Jerusalem.

• They also burned a vehicle owned by one of the community’s residents and fired heavy gunfire at the citizens.

• The group of Israeli extremist settlers acted as a militia using the "Price Tag" strategy. These colonists often carry out attacks on Palestinian civilians, their homes, crops, and livestock, and their actions are frequently accompanied by vandalism, arson, and assaults.

• No injuries were reported inside the Palestinian farmers but 2 settlers were injured by the resident who try to protect themselves and their properties.

Hassan Malihat, General Supervisor of the Al-Baidar stated in a press statement that a terrorist group using the “price tag” strategy burned a house and a vehicle belonging to citizen Daoud Muhammad Musa Kaabneh, a resident of the community, and fired heavy bullets at the citizens, and attacked property.

Context :

On February 11, the Israeli government announced its intention to appoint a settlement official under its supervision to organize the terrorist acts carried out by the Hilltop Youth gang in the occupied West Bank, “in order to protect them and not distract the occupation army forces with security developments that would cause them to lose focus.”. This gang, like all settlers, are supported by Israeli government that promotes settlement and supports targeting Palestinians and expelling them from their lands. The "hilltop youth" are a group of very extremist Jewish youth who live in settlements, outposts, farms and isolated settlement units.
